I give up!!
I can no longer take Kyla's photos on my own. She's just not that interested, and if I take her outside she just crawls around in the dirt! I did get a few good shots in, but none that are perfect!

What you can't see in this last one is the stuff on her nose! Thank God for Photoshop!

A birthday party and a sad good bye...
Well, we had Kyla's party on Saturday, and it was a big hit! Lots of fun was had.

On a sadder note... Brian and I were driving through Lockport this evening when I noticed that the little historic village in the downtown area had been completely removed and is being made into something else. I was so upset! It was a favorite place of mine to take people for photo shoots. Oh well, time tofind a new favorite!

Happy Birthday, Kyla!
First I'll share some photos from my shoot last Saturday. This little baby was only three weeks old and was by far the calmest, happiest newborn I've ever had the privilege of photographing! This is a great new family, and I loved this photo of the three of them!

Finally, Kyla is turning one next week! Today we're having a small party for her. I can't believe a year has already gone by, and though I know it's so cliche, I'm kind of sad. She's not really a baby anymore, and while I hated some parts of the baby stage, I'm going to miss a lot more of it. I feel like I just got my bearings and figured out what I'm doing and now she's changing into something else (a new monster). Time to start over and figure out life again...

It's been a long time...
It's not because I haven't been working that I haven't been posting. I've just had too much work to do! I won't mention all that's been going on, but I will say that we woke up this morning to a leak coming down in the center of our bed! And that's just one of the things that's happened in the last few weeks!

Jim and Erin were married a week ago in a beautiful ceremony at the Koten Chapel on the campus of North Central College in Naperville. It was a beautiful place and a gorgeous day. They were lucky and got their wedding in right between two hurricanes that dumped us with lots of rain.

I loved everything about this wedding. The chapel was gorgeous and small. The wedding party was small which made for some beautiful and intimate pictures. The bride and groom were lots of fun to be around. And the party was one of the best I've been too! I'm pretty sure that everyone there was on the dance floor at one point, and the conga line was huge! And for those of you who are sure to ask, I even got a piece of cake! That never happens, and this cake did not disappoint. It was beautiful and delicious!

And, I'm not going to lie to you, when I found out there would be SIX flower girls in this wedding, I cringed a little inside. But these six girls were so well behaved and fun and the most adorable flower girls ever!

And here's one last picture of Kyla. We took her out to the Levy Senior Center in Bolingbrook to take some pictures, but she foiled our attempts again by ruining her outfit five minutes in. I was not happy, but I was happy with this one!
